A term you may have seen featured heavily on this website is thermoplastic line marking. Specialising in this technique, we make it available not just to clients in nearby local areas such as Bromley, Croydon, Harrow and Orpington, but anyone in a 200-mile radius of our Warlingham base. Often used in the production of long-lasting and hyper-visible road markings and playground markings, thermoplastic line marking can mean results that last 3 to 6 years without the need of touch ups. Examples of past projects we’ve completed using this technique/material can be found on our gallery page.
The materials employed in thermoplastic line marking are pre-formulated and can be applied year round during spells of dry weather; it dries in just 5 minutes, far quicker than similar materials enlisted for line painting. As the application is quick and straight forward, the technique allows projects in our areas of coverage – which include Epsom, Guildford and Sutton, as well as all other locales throughout the UK – to proceed within a strict pre-designated time frame.
The application itself involves the following steps:
Clients will then enjoy permanent line markings that are highly resistant to both the elements, and manmade damage/tampering. Thermoplastic line marking is ideal for both external applications like playgrounds and roads, as well as interior environments like warehouses and car parks.
What sets thermoplastic line marking apart from other products/formulas employed within the line painting industry is that it’s a mix of synthetic resin and glass beads. The resin comes in the form of a solid powder. Our technicians heat this down so it can be applied to the surface. As we go, the 3mm glass beads are spread evenly throughout the resin. This results in a highly reflective end marking, which is also slip and skid resistant – perfect for use as road markings on highways or private road developments around Croydon, Orpington, Bromley, Harrow or the wider UK.
Keep in mind our approach to thermoplastic line marking is distinctly bespoke, and we work with different material grades designed to suit the specific requirements of a client/project. For example, a material which meets BS EN 1871 requirements for dry retro-reflectivity, or BS EN 1436 requirements for skid resistance.
