Choosing the Right Tools & Materials for the Job With Our Line Marking in Epsom | Entire Surface Solutions Ltd

Being based in Warlingham, we have easy access to the entirety of the Surrey area. One of Surrey’s jewels, having recently undergone rapid modernisation via heavy investment in projects like the train station overhaul and the Square, it’s not surprising we’ve been so active over in Epsom! This includes the handling of road markings and playground markings for Epsom schools, and many other applications of thermoplastic line marking and line painting – such as in warehouses and on sports fields.

Our team, trained to City & Guilds and NVQ standards, and adhering to all BS EN health and safety legislation, have cemented their reputation as both Epsom and Surrey’s line marking specialist over its 13 year history. To illustrate the differences between the two core processes we employ – thermoplastic line marking and traditional line painting – we’ve earmarked this page for a brief discussion of two methodologies.

Should you be more interested in asking us a question or discussing a project with us – perhaps you’re in urgent need of road markings for a newly paved byway, or you’re the decision making body at a school with a renovated playground to mark out – pick up the phone and call us on 01883 620 042 or 07775 658 273

How We Approach Line Painting

If thermoplastic line marking isn’t a viable method for the project at hand, we’ll carefully select from a number of different resin applications, each noted for their high level of performance in the given environment. MMA, otherwise known as cold plastic or by its chemical name methlyn methacrylate, is popular for its ease of application and durability. Alternative solutions include chlorinated rubber paint, acrylic paint or water based paint. After choosing the right product for the job at hand, we’ll clear the area of any pollutants that might interfere with the application, then meticulously follow our clients’ designs; rainy weather unfortunately will delay any outside line painting we need to carry out around Epsom, although use of a thermal lance or gas torch can help force-dry the paint in certain specific situations. The time it will take for the paint to dry will be determined in the initial consultation, and factored into our plans.

How We Approach Thermoplastic Line Marking

Using a careful concoction of glass beads and synthetic resins, thermoplastic line marking is capable of laying out highly visible and durable designs that bond with the targeted surface in under 5 minutes. Just as with “traditional” line painting techniques, thermoplastic line marking can utilise resins in any colour you’d like, allowing for a lot of creative room with projects like road markings and playground markings handled in and around the Epsom area. Just as with line painting, the surface is first cleared, then the materials are laid to the surface. Heat is then applied to fuse surface and resin. The fact that thermoplastic line marking can last 6 years before really requiring a touch up, and the fact that it is non-slip and reflective, are amongst the reasons we prefer to use them for so many different types of Epsom project – including road markings and playground markings.
